[size=5][color=seagreen][b]遠古代的日規已將日照時間分成十二等份，當時民生集中地中海沿岸，日夜時間相若！[/b][/color][/size]
[size=5][color=seagreen][b]故此一天便會分成二十四等份！初期發展的機械鐘都以雙十二(double twelve)鐘面顯示！[/b][/color][/size]

[size=3][color=deepskyblue]Hood: This is removable and covers the mechanism and dial. On the Oak clocks there are side panels which come off so as to gain access to the mechanism.

Trunk: This is the narrow or waisted section of the clock.

Base: The lower part of the clock, which, in some cases, has a Satinwood inlay, or small cupboard.

Dial (The face of the clock): Brass dial Brass coloured dial with Chapter Ring. Moon dial Moon moves through the twenty nine and half day lunar cycle - as one moon wanes the other waxes. Painted dial Hand painted dial depicting customer's own choice of photograph, water colour, postcard reproduced by our local artist.

Finials: These are ornaments placed on top of the hood and are produced in brass.

Chapter Ring: This ring has the numerals etched on it and is usually silver in colour to contrast with the brass of the dial.

Tempus Fugit: Latin for "Time flies" appears at the top of the dial and matches the Chapter Ring in silver colour.

Spandrels: These are found on each corner of the dial and in some cases the arch at the top. These are usually brass embossed.

Mechanism (Chimes): Westminster, St Michael and Whittington.The chimes can be silenced at night.

Key Wound: The clock is wound by inserting the key in the holes in the dial and turning.

Weight Driven: To wind the clock the weights are pulled to the top of the casing.

Pendulum: Shaft and brass pendulum bob with thread at bottom to adjust timing of clock.

Weights: These are lead and cased in brass shells. When facing the clock, these have the following functions from left to right: Strike, Hands, Chimes. [/color][/size]

這種座鐘的玻璃圖案，係用來遮醜架！
因為入面空間有限，如果加個定時響鬧機芯，
個響鬧裝置機械會裝係下面！

法國鐘就比較多，個擺既有雕刻，
連後面塊板都有雕刻圖案，全透玻璃就可欣賞哂！正！:)

用木傢私清潔濟抹已很靚！
最後測試報告如下：
微調校正完成，同隻電子錶一齊報時！
8日鍊而家變成4日鍊！
要研究吓先再算！
玻璃片的木框內邊有的不正當的修理，
要想辦法改翻正！

《後記》
這幾天溫度驟降，凍到個鐘都停左！
冷縮熱漲使金屬桿彎曲角度變化！
結果要開鐘面調翻準個anchor角度，佢至行翻準！

[/font][/size][*][size=3][font=Times New Roman]Clock is the centerpiece with two matching temples with cast metal Greek figures. [/font][/size][*][size=3][font=Times New Roman]Clock mechanism looks to be in working order, though no key. Has "MR" with a swallow mark on back. They are 100+ years old, so there is some wear but VERY little. 寄來就嚇一跳，要等保險回覆，不過卻唔賠居多！超過幾十磅的大理石坐鐘！
今次個賣家包得好實，但卻被郵遞整爛卻借口多多！
而家真係好似去咗希臘觀光一樣！

未評估今次的難度，兩個Side piece完整，主座鐘個金頂完整，羅馬柱腳爆裂，神廟牆壁完整！
最后整個底座大理石全部碎裂！個機芯行 Balance Wheel 但係很舊！
人地都話唔寄咁遠，冇法啦！

還有些少工聚，用完膠水，不能繼續！

雲石齊口斷裂的地方，主要用強力快干膠水，
原因係膠水薄，可盡量保持基座原貌！
石膏底座斷裂位置及所有內部接合位置，用熱溶膠加固！
因為以前砌puzzle砌得多，難度不算大！
只係側面一塊雲石角位粉碎了一大片，重想緊點修補！

17吋的闊度，13吋的高度，做成宏偉的效果！

很多時好朋友會送一個靚鐘給對方，
用意是將好運送給他，天長地久，一直保存！

大家可能不清楚這種鐘就是空氣鐘Atmos Clock發明的原型，稱為400天鐘400-day clocks，也叫週年紀念鐘Anniversary clocks。因為他上一次發條可行走約400天，一年365天，您生日時上發條，明年生日時它可能才需上發條，同理結婚紀念日、老婆生日、小孩生日。它不動時表示一年又到了。

瑞士積家空氣鐘1928年發明就是以此種鐘做為設計原型，現代的石英擺鐘都能看到類似的設計，這也是一款經典時鐘，非常值得收藏。

這種鐘是我看過最不須保養的時鐘，因為運行緩慢，機械接近零磨損，如果保養得好，使用期限是無法估計的，可以傳遞幾百年，值得玩味的入門時鐘。

扭擺鐘具有很長的振動週期（幾秒至幾十秒），走時延續時間很長，上一次弦可走時400天以上，故又稱400天鐘。扭轉擺3個或4個圓形空心銅球組成。這幾個銅球可以從中心向內或向外移動，向外移動時增大振動週期，相反則縮小振動週期。扭轉擺大約旋轉 3/4圈之後再向另一方向旋轉。扭擺鐘的機件一般用黃銅製成，外面罩上圓形或其他形狀的玻璃罩，以保持機芯清潔；機座下面有3個可調整水準位置的支腳，以保證在不平的平面上擒縱機構也能正常工作。扭轉擺除作為振動系統外，還有獨特的裝飾作用。

以前扭擺鐘是機械鐘。在現代石英鐘內，也有採用吊簧扭擺的，但它不是作為時間振動系統的一部分，而是純粹作為裝飾用的。這種扭轉擺的擺動是通過機芯週期性給吊簧補充能量來完成的。此外，石英鐘的扭轉擺也不單獨組成一套振動系統，它能維持一定頻率的來回擺動以起到裝飾作用，與走時毫無聯繫。[/color][/b][/size][img]http://groups.physics.umn.edu/demo/old_page/demo_gifs/3A10_30.GIF[/img]

除了瑞士積家空氣鐘在港有得賣，現代的石英擺鐘都很容易找到，去銅鑼灣那家大百貨公司找找。
至於真正的400日鍊，有些二手店都會有的。
要留意的是一定會行鐘才買，起碼持續行鐘15天才算穩定行鐘。
因為擺放位置不理想，擺幅不平均，擺角不足等等因素影響，行了幾天也會突然停鐘。
機械鐘係幾有趣的玩意，行開鐘就會持久落去，停了一段時間移動過，要經過一些時間調校，才能夠維持翻。

[b][size=4][color=darkorchid]其實扭擺鐘並不是全用吊簧游絲suspension wire(suspension spring)的，我就有一個400日鍊係用類似平衡游絲helical balance spring的，擺頻又會較快（一分鐘十二次），正懷疑這並非400日鍊，有待考証中！[/color][/size][/b]

To keep accurate time, a pendulum clock needs a pendulum whose center of gravity remains constant. Unfortunately when the metal shaft of a pendulum warms up, it expands, shifting the center of gravity down and causing the clock to run slow. To compensate for this, glass vials containing mercury can be placed at the bottom of the pendulum. Not only is mercury nice and heavy, making for a good solid pendulum, it also expands more than most other metals on heating. Thus as the pendulum warms up the bottom of the vials moves down (because the shaft gets longer) but the mercury gets taller, shifting the center of gravity back up where it belongs. How much more accurate this made a clock I don't know: In any case a cheap electronic clock now is vastly more accurate than any of these ever were.[/color]

One is preserved at the British Museum and the other has now returned to Greenwich. This picture shows a detail of the movement. 早期的時鐘，多採用金屬鐘擺，擺桿易受溫度變化影響，導致走時不準確。在1715年，英國人George Graham發明了水銀擺錘，改善了溫度對時鐘的影響。

這些發展，其實由於當時冶金技術落後，最容易的代替材料就是木材。在17世紀的德國山區，工匠們普遍會用木材作為機芯齒輪。木齒輪機芯的唂咕鐘大約在1750年發展開來。

1090年，中國宋代蘇頌建水運儀象台，以水激輪、輪轉製成中國唯一有說明的自動水運天文儀象及自動報時天文台，可隨地球自轉的追蹤觀星裝置，比西方鐘錶早了600年；蘇頌等人建造的水運儀象臺臺高三丈五尺六寸多，相當於三、四層樓那麼高，分為三層：最上一層有一個小木屋，屋中安裝有渾儀和圭表。當用渾儀觀測時，小屋屋頂就可以自動打開，露出渾儀。這種裝置可以說是現代天文臺活動屋頂的鼻祖。第二層是渾象，渾象的圓球上鑄有283個星官，共計1464顆恒星，用28條經線將28宿隔開。渾象圓球裝在地櫃中，一半露在櫃外，代表著地平線上的半個天空。最下層就是複雜的報時系統，它有五層小木閣，每個小木閣中都有不同數目的小木人。第一、二、三層中的小木人負責報告一天內的時辰和時刻，四、五層中的小木人負責報告夜裡的時辰和更點。
整個水運儀象臺以漏壺中的水為驅動力，通過一套傳動裝置和一個機輪聯結在一起，與天球同步運轉，逼真自動地演示了天象的變化。

在製造過程中，不斷改進時鐘的質量，還創立了當地獨有的一套時鐘特徵，當中也包括外型的規格，最終演化成現在的唂咕鐘。另外，由於演進過程要縱合不同的科學及技術，也促進了當地鐘錶專科學校的組成；德國鐘錶及科研發展的成就，其實都是在這時建立基礎。
黑森林布榖鳥鐘的發展，為區域帶出很多啟發，德國著名的Strasburg大教堂時鐘，雄雞在每個小時打鳴宣佈小時時間，都是仿照布榖鳥鐘的打鳴方式。

大約1750年，建造了著名的"Schottenuhr" clock~(special Black Forest painted wooden shield clock黑森林手繪的木盾型鐘面時鐘)，並開始出現在時鐘表盤的上面有一個小門，杜鵑鳥會從小門出來報時，這些時鐘設計非常複雜又極之稀有。

很快布榖鳥鐘的新的品種又出現，外殼以鐵路房子的形式配上深棕色橡木鐘面。那時生產的木架時鐘，都是用重錘帶動機芯齒輪，為時鐘提供動力的。受法國工藝文化影響，布榖鳥鐘的外型雕塑得非常細緻，很有藝術性。

德國咕咕鐘的歷史最早是一對名叫庫茲的德國兄弟發明了第一座世界上最早問世的木架鐘，這是咕咕鐘的前身，後來一位法朗安頓．凱特爾先生巧妙地用風箱原理，設計出讓鐘可以發出與布穀鳥相似的歌聲，而完成了世界上第一座咕咕鐘，咕咕鐘業自此迅速發展，憑著設計師們的想像力，在鐘的結構和外觀上得到許多的改良，也就是現在我們所熟悉的咕咕鐘外型。咕咕鐘使用傳統的手工雕刻技法來裝飾外觀，並利用機械動力以及齒輪原理，設計了各種不同的動態木偶，例如像砍木材、喝啤酒、水車的轉動、跳舞等，這些精巧有趣的動偶，配上音樂與咕咕鳥鳴聲，將黑森林地區的生活表現無遺。

地球自轉一周的時間以恆星為標準。一恆星日(sidereal day)約等於23小時56分。我們因而可以看到每天(即相隔24小時後)同一顆恆星升起的時間比對上一天早4分鐘，一個月便早升2小時，因此我們每晚在同一時間所看到星空都與上一天稍為不同。
由於太陽的周年視運動並不均勻，因此太陽日的長短每日都不同，一年中最長和最短的太陽日相差51秒。

關於積家的Atmos鐘有各種各樣的叫法，例如：叫空氣鐘、叫氣壓鐘、還有永動鐘的，但是我覺的比較準確的說法應該叫它溫差鐘。

　　世界上不存在永動機，一些貌似不需要能源的東西，也必須遵守能量守恆定律。積家的Atmos鐘實際是利用溫差變化得到能量的，為了從溫度變化中獲取能量，就必須找到一種合適的“媒體”，氯乙烷所具有的特性符合了這個要求。氯乙烷的分子式是C2H5CI，它是一種在常溫下呈氣體狀的有機物，在一定壓力下則為液態。其實是醫學上常用的一種麻醉劑，（比如在拔牙和臨時處理運動外傷的時候止疼用）。氯乙烷另一個特性是，它在50°F ~ 81°F（華氏溫度）之間膨脹係數最高，利用這個特性，把它裝在積家Atmos鐘的一個大金屬盒子裏。金屬盒子做成風箱狀的，可以收縮，實際就成為一個膨脹盒。並用一個銅罩罩住保護它，所以從外面是看不見它的。

　　它的工作原理是這樣的：當溫度上升時，氯乙烷的氣體迅速膨脹，膨脹盒就像手風琴那樣的伸長，同時，膨脹盒內的一個大螺旋彈簧被壓縮了。當溫度升到81°F時，螺旋彈簧會被完全壓縮。當溫度下降時，氯乙烷的氣體迅速縮小，膨脹盒也收縮，螺旋彈簧螺旋彈簧被放鬆。溫度的高低變化，使螺旋彈簧也隨之壓縮和放鬆，當溫度升到50°F時，螺旋彈簧會被完全放鬆。隨著膨脹盒做壓縮和放鬆的往復運動的是一個小鏈條，鏈條通過一個滑輪和發條盒聯繫起來，來給發條上弦。溫差變化越大，上弦越多。據說，每天只要有2°F的溫度變化，所產生的能量就足以維持Atmos鐘48小時的運轉了。

　　Atmos溫差鐘另一個最引人注意的東西，就是它那巨大而旋轉緩慢的擺輪了，它每分鐘只擺兩次，即左右各一次。所以Atmos溫差鐘的齒輪數目可以減到最少，發條的弱力矩加上擺輪的緩慢釋放，使得這個鐘磨損幾乎達到微乎其微。資料上介紹它工作600年才可能出現磨損。另外，其加工也極為精細，還特別注意平衡問題，包括它的分針，只要有個蒼蠅落到分針上，也能是它停走。幸虧它是裝在玻璃罩子裏的，它還有帶水準標的三個支腳，使用時候務必要水準。

　　Atmos溫差鐘的走時精度，主要歸功於哪個巨大的圓柱型的擺輪，轉動慣量很大。並且它是由一根很細的鎳基的合金絲（Elinvar）懸吊起來的，這個合金絲經過特殊處理，溫度係數極小，幾乎不受溫度變化的影響。圓柱型的擺輪品質有240克，是一般手錶的3000倍，不過它消耗的能力卻比普通手錶少100倍！還有一個原因，就是Atmos溫差鐘的發條永遠保持適當的盤緊程度，不緊不松。這樣使發條之間各圈沒有接觸摩擦，所以力矩輸出永遠均勻不變。

　　我有個朋友，剛從北京潘家園古董市場花一萬三淘換了一隻二手的Atmos溫差鐘。據他說，每天誤差只有10幾秒。商場新的Atmos溫差鐘大約要賣到5萬元左右！Atmos溫差鐘是積家引為自豪的產品，也是瑞士政府經常作為官方贈禮的國家禮品。值得一提的是，熱帶環境下使用的Atmos溫差鐘和溫帶所用的氯乙烷性質不一樣，購買的時候要注意。

[u][size=3][color=#9932cc][b][size=4][color=darkorange]積家空氣鐘的使用須知[/color][/size][/b][/color][/size][/u][b][size=3][color=#4169e1]最近我看到一隻新的積家空氣鐘（見照片），其實我寧願叫它為溫差鐘，因為我覺的這樣叫更貼切。但是瑞士人還是叫它為空氣鐘，還稱其為靠空氣生活的鐘。據介紹這個鐘是在1928年由瑞士人強雷恩.路特（JEAN-LEON REUTTER）研究出的仿佛永動機般的革命性發明。

　　它的原理是在鐘的背後哪個巨大的密封盒內注入混和氯乙烷氣體，這種氣體在一定溫度範圍內對溫度變化很敏感。當溫度上升的時候，混合氣體會迅速膨脹；溫度下降則收縮，在攝氏15-30度溫度範圍內只要有一度的溫度變化，就能保證時鐘產生大約有48小時的能量儲備。擺輪每分鐘只緩慢的轉動2次，要比傳統時鐘慢60倍，因此磨損極小，理論上鐘的壽命可達600年以上。空氣鐘的動力來源於溫度差，只要有陽光照射就有溫度的變化，鐘擺就可以轉動。

　　這個鐘也很“嬌貴”的，使用時應該注意下述事項：

　　1、空氣鐘應儘量避免移動，若要非移動鐘就一定先要將鐘擺上面的哪個扳手向右撥動到盡頭，以止住擺輪。

　　2、擺輪相對比較巨大和沉重，而且只靠一根細合金絲把它吊起來，而那個細合金絲則是鐘走時精度的關鍵所在。所以為了保護鐘擺和合金絲，此鐘設有兩套保護裝置。在鐘底下還有個螺絲，把它向上擰緊直到觸及鐘擺的下椎後，還要再多轉1/4圈，以確保接觸和支撐到它。鐘底的螺絲和鐘門後面的板手，在運輸的時候兩者都要起保護，用板手的關閉擺輪的旋轉只是在把鐘小範圍移動時用的。

　　3、鐘下有3個支腳，前面2個是可以調整的，觀察擺輪前面的氣泡水準儀，通過調整3個支腳的前2個的高度，務必要將氣泡仔細地調到水準儀中心。

　　4、用手指撥動分針來對表和校正指示誤差，但切務逆時針大範圍的撥動分針，也不要在撥動中碰到時針。

　　5、如果鐘擺不轉，首先要檢查鐘放置是否水準，止擺板手是否以位於左側了，然後可以用手輕輕轉動鐘擺半圈，來幫助鐘擺啟動。

　　6、積家空氣鐘在瑞士侏邏山海拔1000公尺（其生產工廠所在地）已經調校過精度，並運行1個月。如果發現走時精度誤差比較大，要通過鐘頂端上的精度校正杆來校正精度。向右撥動鐘走快，向左撥動鐘走慢。按每個月的累計誤差來判定調整的幅度，鐘的說明書都給出了調整幅度的表格。

　　7、鐘底部的止擺螺絲在鬆開後也要和擺輪的下錐留有足夠的間距，否則擺在遇有震動的情況下會顫抖，依然會擦蹭到止擺螺絲的，這樣就會造成很大的走時誤差。

　　8、鐘必須關門，前門不能長期老開著，否則容易進灰塵和異物，室內流動的空氣也會影響到擺輪旋轉的穩定度。

　　9、避免接觸腐蝕性氣體和液體，我見過許多外殼都銹蝕了的空氣鐘（照片中的哪個鐘的基座是鍍銠的）顯然過於潮濕的環境也是不適合的。

　 10、避免震動的環境，哪怕是輕微的，因為懸掛一絲的沉重鐘擺對震動非常敏感。[/color][/size][/b]

要控制轉動慣量與扭轉週期，有四種方法：

（1）通過改變游絲(懸掛彈簧)的強度（或厚度）。游絲厚(粗)時鐘運行得更快；更薄(幼)時鐘會緩慢下來。

（2）通過改變懸掛彈簧的長度。更長的游絲時鐘運行較慢；一個較短的游絲將時鐘運行得更快。

（3）通過改變鐘擺的重量。較重的鐘擺將時鐘運行較慢。較輕的鐘擺會使其運行速度更快。
