Even though they both measure at 7-inches, the Tab is thinner at 3-mm and slightly longer and broader. Both can be held comfortably with one hand. Samsungˇs homescreen can be used in either portrait or landscape, while Viewpad is only in landscape. The displays are different as well, the Galaxy Tab features a 1024 x 600 panel, the ViewPad7 has the smaller 800 x 480 screen. The graphics on the Tab look better as well. The viewsonic comes with WiFi b/g and [color=black]Bluetooth[/color] 2.1+EDR, while Samsung has Samsungˇs WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0. Both will have quadband GSM and triband UMTS/HSDPA, and can be used as a 3G mobile hotspot. Samsung is faster with a 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 Hummingbird processor. The Viewpad 7 features a 600MHz ARM11 Qualcomm MSM7227 chip. The Viewpad 7 will most likely not be able to handle the Flash Player 10.1. Both basically have the same rear-mounted camera(3-megapixels on the ViewSonic, 3.2 on the Samsung), but the Galaxy tab comes equipped with LED flash. Both can also make video calls with the front-facing camera and voice calls. Samsung has better accessories such as QWERTY keyboard dock, HDMI dock for high-def media playback and more, but you will have to dig deep out of your pocket for these extras[color=black]. Samsung also confirmed today that they will be packing exclusive content to their Tab, which gives the Tab a bigger edge on the Viewpad. The Viewpad 7 provides strong competition, but the possibility of an OS upgrade to gingerbread hasnˇt[/color] been confirmed, while Samsung has been making hints at a later upgrade. The price difference is quite large...
